The Somer Singers are a mixed-voice, four-part vocal harmony group drawn from the Somerton, Langport and Ilminster areas of Somerset, and we have been singing together now since 2015, although our line-up has changed many times since then.  We are currently 16 members strong, and we sing unaccompanied arrangements in ‘a cappella’ style.

The group sings at a variety of functions – at parties and charity fundraisers, often at community events, occasionally at residential homes, and in concert.  We made our Ilminster debut in May 2023, supporting the Ilminster Community Choir at the Warehouse Theatre, and enjoyed our first appearance at the Arts Centre in September of last year.  But in short, we are simply a group of friends who just love to sing together wherever the opportunity arises!

Our repertoire includes songs from the 60’s through to the noughties, ranging from pop classics to mighty ballads, along with a smattering of blues, gospel and show tunes.  And come Christmas time, we have a scintillating mix of carols and seasonal songs, to welcome in the festive season. Enjoy!

Performance starts at 7:30pm, doors from 6:30pm with bar available.

General admission: £5 with all proceeds kindly being donated to the Ilminster Arts Centre
