Formed in London in 2006, the Greenwich Trio brings together Slovenian violinist Lana Trotovšek, Canadian cellist Heather Tuach, and Japanese pianist Yoko Misumi. Described by Bernard Greenhouse as the “New Beaux Arts Trio,” they quickly earned major awards including the Solti Foundation and Tunnell Trust Awards and the top prize at the Beethoven Society of Europe Chamber Music Competition.
As an ensemble they have appeared at leading festivals such as Santander, Rheingau, Ljubljana, Estoril Lisboa, Cheltenham, Rye Arts, and Bath, and at venues including London’s Kings Place, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, and Madrid’s Royal Palaces. Their Linn Records release of the complete Brahms Piano Trios has received five-star reviews from BBC Music Magazine, Classica, and Diapason.
Alongside their chamber work, the members maintain distinguished solo careers: Trotovšek has performed concertos with conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Valery Gergiev, Gianandrea Noseda and Rafael Payare; Tuach made her Carnegie Hall debut in 2015 and recorded award-nominated Bruckner with the Fitzwilliam String Quartet; and Misumi has appeared as soloist with James Judd and in major halls across Europe and Japan.
Recent highlight: In September 2025, the Trio performed Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra under Julien Proulx in St. John’s.
